We approach all of our large and small projects with an empathy for the land and the people, meaning we achieve the best possible cultural, environmental, and economic outcomes for the kiwi communities we create. (And of course for our awesome clients)

We are looking for a motivated Junior Surveyor or Survey Assistant to join our Napier team.

From mapping river channels to surveying dynamic beaches, this role offers hands-on experience surveying diverse landscapes while contributing to projects that support local communities and the environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a school leaver or someone starting out in their career who sees a future in surveying. You will have the chance to work with the latest technology, including UAVs & USVs (drones) and receive full training in all aspects of surveying. For those keen on further studies, we offer support and guidance towards obtaining a Level 6 Diploma in Surveying or other relevant qualifications.

Who are you?

  • Physically fit and enjoy working outdoors.
  • Comfortable in and around water and able to swim confidently.
  • Able to paddle and manoeuvre a kayak in river and stream environments.
  • Have a keen interest in surveying and are motivated to develop a career in the field.
  • Excited to work with innovative technology, including UAVs and USVs (drones).
  • Possess strong communication skills with good spoken English, and the ability to articulate issues and solutions clearly.
  • A team player who works well with others and contributes positively to team dynamics.
  • Hold a clean Full NZ drivers' licence.
  • Ideally have experience with GNSS and Total Stations (advantageous but not essential).
  • NZ Resident/Citizen preferred (must have the right to work in New Zealand).
